We are a veteran‑owned 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting local homeless and domestic‑violence shelters by raising monetary and material donations to ensure they can provide essential shelter, food, medical care, legal assistance, and emotional support.
The Center for Women and Families provides comprehensive services for survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual violence, including crisis intervention, advocacy, counseling, and emergency shelter focused on survivor safety and stabilization. Our mission is: Together, we disrupt the cycle of intimate partner and sexual violence. Our vision is: Thriving survivors and safe communities. While The Center does not serve individuals traditionally considered unhoused, we are a member of the Coalition for the Homeless, reflecting our work with survivors of intimate partner violence and our provision of crisis emergency shelter when safety concerns require immediate relocation.

We are a drop in day center for unhoused women and their children. UP provides comprehensive services: a safe space, shower, restroom, use of UP telephone, a mailing address, help obtaining vital documents, case management, and a place to connect with community resources and providers. Due to the increased numbers of unhoused guests that UP is serving, we prioritize guests that are living outside or in temporary shelters. We do offer limited services on Wednesdays to our existing clients living in their own apartments. In addition, we help guests that are approaching their graduation from substance recovery and sober living programs in getting IDs and birth certificates.

Our mission is to educate our communities and empower survivors of domestic violence. We provide advocacy, safe shelter, DV education with compassion and trauma-informed guidance to self-sufficiency. We serve eight counties with a capacity for only 25 survivors at a time in our emergency shelter. In shelter, we provide food and any other immediate need that one can imagine upon fleeing a residence with very little in hand. With only six outreach victim advocates, who provide court support and assistance through protective order hearings, we do our best to meet as many needs as possible to aid survivors who can remain in their homes. This means security cameras, food, clothing, utility bill assistance, gas cards for vehicles, gift cards for general use to meet personal needs, vehicle scholarships (with private donor assistance) and some limited rental assistance when the need meets certain criteria. When survivors reach the point where they can move on to independent living, we assist with as many immediate need items as possible to help them advance toward self-sufficiency.
